I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Salt Lake City, UT) in Dec 2015
Interview
I was contacted my phone a little after a week of applying to schedule an interview. I had two interviews back to back on one day and was offered the job immediately after my 2nd interview. After accepting the offer, I was able to come in a few more times to go over paperwork and get everything set up. From applying to my first day was maybe 3 weeks maximum. This was for a weekend part time position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you didn't get along with a co worker and how you handle(d) it?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Kapolei, HI) in Jun 2016
Interview
I applied online and called 3 days later to follow up on the application. Received a call 5 days later asking if I was still interested, and why I wanted to work for Target. HR set up an appointment for me to be interviewed 3 days after that. I came in 10 min early, but ended up having to wait an extra 30 min sitting in the office as they were busy. My interviewer came in and brought me to a room with a table and 3 chairs, sat me down and said he'd be right back. He brought another team member to sit with us through the interview. She didn't say anything until the end when I asked them questions, not sure why she was there but it didn't put me off or anything. I answered everything honestly and the questions were easy -- mostly situational questions. I think the interview went very well, but at the end my interviewer told me they have a few other applicants to get through so HR will be giving me a call if I got the job. Waited 3 days and woke up this morning to an email saying they appreciate my interest but could not offer me a position at this time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
-Why do you want to work at Target, and not Kmart or Walmart?
-What experience do you have that qualifies you for the position you're applying for?
Then the situational-type questions:
-Tell us about a time that you had a conflict with another employee or management, and how did you solve it?
-Tell us about a time you were interrupted, and how did you get around it?
-Tell us about a time that you required help from someone more experienced than you.
-Tell us about a time that you had to motivate others around you to do well?
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Target (Denton, TX) in Dec 2015
Interview
I applied online through the Target Careers portion of the website. You select your 3 most desirable positions based on what is available. Important tip- the website is just a rough idea of what positions are available- It is best to select those that look available, but don't be afraid to ask if you could be hired for the position you really want, even if the website says that they don't have any openings.
The actual interview was laid back and easy- the manager was friendly and made the interview process feel comfortable. The questions were standard compared to other interviews I've had, often relating to experiences at previous jobs- problem and conflict resolution etc.
They usually talk about your interview questions for about 10 minutes following the interview while you wait in the lobby area. They will let you know whether they would like to offer you a job right then, so you don't have to wait to be called back.
