I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Savannah, GA) in Jun 2009
Interview
I was already an employee with the company. The position was announced internally shortly after the Alltel merger was completed and the Savannah offices were established. Because I was already in the program to become a trainer with Alltel I was encouraged to apply for the position. After completing new hire and new product training myself I was scheduled to sit in and review the trainings I received not as a participant. I then was interviewed by the regional training manager then the regional HR manager. After almost two weeks I was told that the position was not going to be filled.

Interview
I applied online at a few locations in the area. The next day I received an email having me double check info and send it to my recruiter and to give her a call when I was done. I had done so that night and she immediately scheduled a phone interview. She went over salary and position details at this point and asked some interview questions. Later that day I got the call from the hiring manager at the store I'd applied to who wanted to set up my in person interview. We did do immediately and there were two managers interviewing me at once. Awaiting results!
