I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Verizon (Honolulu, HI) in Jun 2016
Interview
Phone interview. Was emailed info about the company and also the product of the month. At the end of the phone interview I was told I would move on to an in person interview. I applied online and also talked to some reps at a job event. The interview was a mix questions, role plays and info about the job and perks. She was impressed by my role playing skills and told me that many people have big issues with it. Was told my next step would be in the store I applied for, it would be with that store GM and could be more people there also. She also told me about training dates and wanted to know if I would be open for these dates.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Round Rock, TX) in Apr 2012
Interview
I applied online. All applications must be done online. I know it has changed since I started and I believe now there is an assessment that has to be taken. I got a phone interview a couple weeks after the posting closed. It was "tell me about your work history" and "describe a time when" kind of interview. They wanted to know about sales and customer service experience in particular. After that I had a 2nd phone interview with another HR person. She told me that I would be contacted by the store manager to schedule a face to face interview and that they were trying to fill the position quickly. I ended up calling the manager after a week since I hadn't heard anything. I had a face to face interview later that week. There is an interview guide they go through to ask behavioral based questions and then the manager and I talked for awhile about just stuff. A week or so later I was offered the job. The experience can vary greatly based on the hiring manager.
