I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Verizon in Nov 2012
Interview
There were three interviews. Two on the phone and one face to face interview.
The first phone interview was by a third party company who just asked preliminary boring questions about my work history and experience.
The second phone interview was with Verizon's HR hiring rep and that took about half an hour of similar questions. She also explained more about the position and compensation. She then scheduled me for a in-person interview at the store I would be working at with my future manager.
The in person interview was much more stressful as the guy I had was very thorough. He had a packet of questions and took notes. After that interview I received a call two hours later saying I had the job and to schedule a drug test in the next 48 hours. It was a urinalysis at Quest Diagnostics. Having passed that and the background check, they finally called and officially offered me the job.
The whole process took about three weeks even though the initial three interviews all took place within the same week. The call back from the background check and pee test was the longest wait. The job didn't actually start until two months after my first interview but that was due in part to the program I was entering called Retail Leader Development Program (RLDP).

What is one of your biggest regrets in life and why do you regret it?
What sources do you use to stay current with information and news?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Greenville, SC) in Sep 2012
Interview
Can be a very difficult company to get on with. My experience was fairly unique due to a network connection that got me a closer look. Very thorough background check/drug screen. First interview(s) are by phone with recruiter, then with store management, and district. Process can be very long and many will have to apply several times to even get that far.

Question 1
Not really a question, but they will try to talk you out of the position to weed out those who are not prepared or may not really want the job.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Kennesaw, GA) in Oct 2013
Interview
Initial phone interview with recruiter, standard behavorial questions. Went in and interviewed with 2 store managers, standard star based interview. One manager was constantly texting during the whole interview, the other one seemed engaged, yet was chewing gum. Totally classless behavior from the store managers. Not surprising considering their poor customer service in general.

Nothing unexpected. Same useless questions everyone asks
