I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Verizon in Sep 2008
Interview
there was one round of technical interview and another round of HR interview. The questions were very basic and tested understanding of business scenarios and how one would react to situations. Knowledge of telecom domain will really help. They also looked for good academic record from the schooling. There were questions from my favourite engineering subject too.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Verizon (Irving, TX) in Apr 2008
Interview
It's contractor position but usually very stable. Interview was recommended by another friend inside Verizon. The manager just met me for an 1:1 interview and asked several technical questions. Very basic and should be fine without any problem. Then it's finished and I got the offer.
The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Verizon (Atlanta, GA) in Mar 2009
Interview
Through a recruiter, met with team of 4 people. Very professional while decently casual. Asked questions and presented engineering problems to work through - complicated but not insanely so.
Outright stated that they were a Serious Work Environment, long hours were expected and all sorts of no-nonsense points. While this turned off my interest, the candor was most excellent.
