People are nice, but not go getters. People only come to work for salary, not to be challenged, not to make an impact.

Cons

Technology is non existent. not innovative. older work force, stuck in its ways.

Low morale and constant reorganizations

Pros

Fellow colleagues were very easy to work with and made the time there more enjoyable

Cons

Constant change in executive management team lead to constant re-organizations every 6 months or less. With every restructure there were layoffs as pressures for expense reductions increased with promises made to Wall Street. As a result, morale is very low with little to no merit increases in the past few years, especially for the more senior managers.

Ability to work from home.

Cons

Pretty much everything. No raises after 8-10 years, no career development or mentoring, unwillingness to invest in technology or people, mass layoffs, moving to offshore model, take your pick. If you are Indian you can do well at AIG.
