AT&T Response

Due to constant changes in the industry and technology, we sometimes have to restructure to remain competitive and meet the needs of the business. When this happens, we do our best to offer our employees as many options as we can to help them find other positions within and outside the company. We truly appreciate your feedback

Pros

Great benefits for health, vision, dental, 401k retirement. You can get paid to go to trainings and compensated for travel. The retail store team environment can be very fun and is a great way to develop team building skills. There was a huge opportunity for promotions and growth. Retail environment is moving towards a more relaxed atmosphere and you can see that in the dress code - from slacks to jeans. As an employee to AT&T you get discounts off cellular and home services. All stores strive to be diverse and hire a large range of employees. All locations have different types of management - which I put as a pro because you can have a great team with great leaders and in other areas you may have a great leader with an ok team, but overall it gives you the opportunity to improve your own skills by giving back to the team. Retail is built upon focusing on value as opposed to focusing on price.

Cons

The long hours in retail can be a huge turn off. Sometimes you will face wave after wave of customers who have all unique situations that require help beyond your in store control or times you have no customers and the business can be very slow. Sometimes customers will come infuriated and demand your help as manager even though you have a queue system set up and are helping customers. Things are constantly changing such as compensation structure, retail team apparel, prices and promotions which can be confusing at times.

Pros

Good pay, excellent training, nice people and high integrity. Benefits are very good when compared to other companies. All round good place to work.

Cons

Some things take too long. Allot of people have worked for many years at AT&T and get stuck in their ways. To get to senior management you need to move to Dallas
