Going downhill fast

Pros

Pay is competitive. Opportunities to move around the business.

Cons

I worked for AT&T for over a decade. Came in as a college hire with aspirations for advancement and career growth. Over the years I quickly realized how little management cares about real talent and intelligence for promotion. Instead they focus on the biggest suck ups and loudest in the room. High performance is not rewarded with advancement instead you’re handed an ever growing unrealistic workload as management knows you’ll do the best job and will take advantage of it. Meanwhile the slackers sit around getting paid with little to do. They’ve seen shifted to 3 days of week in the office and force relocated L2 managers or laid them off if they were willing to go to Dallas. The Dallas office itself is nice, but the surrounding area is a ghost town full of homeless people - completely unsafe. They treat those in hub cities like children tracking amount of hours in the office and badge swipes. Leadership team is horrible and doesn’t care about the people at all. I could keep going, but I don’t have all day. All in all a horrible place to work. I’ve left and haven’t looked back!! Stay away!!

Beware

Pros

Vehicle to drive to dispatches.

Cons

One price solutions. We basically force customers to be have insurance on there plans. Pressure from upper management to add insurance because we are the most expensive department to run. Billing is never accurate for customers and when credit is promised to clients it’s never applied. Lying to customers since management don’t fix account issues. 6 month chargebacks for any sale. Directors will lie about vacation payout if you don’t use before they expire.

Pros

Good hikes, best in class insurance plan, benefits like car leasing, hard furnishings allowance. Flat hierarchy.

Cons

Of late a lot of changes happening within at&t in India. The IDC is going to make it inefficient as the layer of management in India will just add redundancy and burden on company due to their high packages. The new top boss who arrived just a year ago to the organization and is known to change company every two years is now teaching work culture to the folks who have been loyal and have spent decades in AT&T.
