Pros

Large company job advancement only if you are willing to move to main offices. If you do not move job advancement is limited.

Cons

Staffing, more work than current staff can handle in work week. Which requires OT which is but is not compensated for salary employees. Cutting benefits - time off, employee phone plans and no backfilling jobs. This puts more work on the employees.

Pros

Pretty stable place to work, in 8 years here I have never felt insecure about losing my job, until this year, anyway. Although there were periods of time over the past 8 years when I have had to work 50-70 hours a week, that is actually a rarity, 40 hours a week is normal. The pay is competitive when things like yearly performance bonuses are factored in. it can also be a laid back atmosphere, but sometimes, old/rigid ways still prevail.

Cons

Job advancement is virtually non-existent, and thus pay increases are slight if at all(2-3% raise per year is normal) the health plan they have chosen for us has an insane deductible causing my wife and I to resort to buying prescriptions we both need from Canada. that's right, shipping from Canada is 1/2 the price of our "Insurance"... even for an early 30s, non-smoker. the company refuses to advance their thinking to anything other than 5 days a week, 8 hours a day in a cubicle, despite the fact working from home is an option. recent budget cuts have made many uneasy about job security for the first time in my 8 years with the company. the company's structure makes it impossible to move up into new positions... and very difficult to even make lateral moves since you are kinda stuck in the area you are in. people in the wireless side can't migrate to internet, people in LD can't move to wireless... so you end up silo'd to a specific role with no room to grow, or new challenges to overcome.

Pros

Money. I cant say anything. The benefits were great. I think I made a great deal of money during my career there, but that is all I can say.

Cons

Management. If they dont like you, your out. They make threats. Just awful people. They treated us like kids. We had people monitoring PEE breaks, and conversations. They did not promote unity, they promoted everything that was wrong. They made once good reps into managers that were evil people. This company really brought out the worst in me. The stress I was under with them was bad. So many people are suing them now, as I saw it on the news. I always say, it comes back one way or the other.
