Pros

The Mission of the Red Cross is very rewarding whether you are on the Chapter side or the Blood Services side. Helping others is the real drive as to why many Red Cross staff members do their jobs to the level of quality

Cons

Very low moral, so many lay offs its hard to focus on anything but who's next. Tons of work but with no reward or merit for good work.

We are sorry to hear your concerns about low morale and lack of recognition. It is true that we have recently undergone restructuring due to the rapidly changing biomedical industry. no value as an employee, no communication within departments, and no upheld standard. No consistency with classes.

The organization rarely developed its own talent for promotion. Very disheartening to see colleagues laid-off after 18 years of service.

Our recent restructuring was in response to the rapidly changing biomedical industry; the Red Cross senior leadership team has begun implementing initiatives to keep our organization viable while minimizing the impact on our employees. Career development is important at our organization; we do offer employees many ways to develop professionally, and encourage managers to discuss and set goals with them via our performance management system.
