Pros

I enjoy being a part of the good that the Red Cross does everyday. I have also had many opportunities for career development and professional achievement. I look forward to a long future with this company and as a result, a lifetime of joy.

Cons

We have many empty positions right now so direction is hard to come by. The two positions above me are currently empty. Of course, I also recognize that as positions are filled again, this will correct itself. I suppose the issue is with the time it takes to hire, from initial opening to someone sitting down in the chair. It seems to be a longer process, take longer, than most other organizations.

Thank you for your review! We are so pleased that you have found a career with us that has not only led to professional development and achievements, but ultimately to “a lifetime of joy.” There are many aspects that go into the hiring process—while some positions can be filled quickly, others may take longer, due to a variety of circumstances. We appreciate your patience and hope that your concerns regarding direction will be resolved soon. We also understand and agree with your comments about technology. Our leadership team recognizes that improving our technology capabilities is vital to remaining agile as an organization. Processes have been put in place to help us streamline and upgrade over the next few years.

Pros

Staff is passionate about their work and not primarily out for just a paycheck.

Cons

More volunteers working in full-time roles than actual paid employees. This sometimes leads to ambiguity over level of responsibility coworkers feel.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We could not serve our communities without our dedicated employees and volunteers, and we are always thrilled to see them recognized. We appreciate your concerns about volunteer roles and responsibilities and will convey these to our leadership team.

Pros

Helping people in their time of need.

Cons

The organization needs major improvements. It's in constant chaos. Women within the organization are very catty. You would think working at a non profit that everyone would be like minded toward the mission.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review; we are happy to hear your support of our mission. Our organization has recently undergone some structural changes in response to changes in the biomedical industry. Communication during times of change is vital, and our leadership has begun implementing ways to better communicate with our employees. We encourage you to speak with your supervisor regarding any concerns about policies or restructuring, and we will pass your feedback on to our leadership team.
