Great organization, but beware

Pros

Red Cross does a good thing for the community. I have volunteered in the past and know many people who are employed. Volunteers do give a lot with little feedback on a good job.

Cons

The leaders make very good salaries (know where some live), but the worker bee's get told to do more and there is not money for raises. You can work very long hours with no breaks which in turns makes the people grumpy and it shows to the people they are helping. Turn over is high.
