Pros

Trainning, Support, travel and carreer oportunities. its a great place to develope high charity standards. On the most respectable NGO´s in the worlds support by an impressive volunteers network.

Cons

Huge organization, means, as well, huge bureaucracy and internal levels of decision, which lead to slow processes. Some important strategic and operational decisions only happen on the international council meeting, every two years.

Pros

A great cause and brand. The opportunity to hear about and meet incredible HRDs and their stories.

Cons

The Management do not know what they are doing and are hardly in the office. They are cowardly and outsource work and decision to agencies. Bullying is also tolerated- it's just shameful. Amnesty international UK exists on dining out on its name and past glories whereas the reality is the leadership and lady at the helm are terrible and rely on lower staff and ( naive enthusiasm of it's) volunteers to do all the work. Most of the management have been their years - some have never worked anywhere else, and probably wouldn't get a job elsewhere. Good staff are 'let go' as they would challenge management and this unfair status quo - Hence the high turnover. Its so sad - Amnesty and its members deserve a hold lot more.

Pros

They are a responsible for raising a great amount of revenue for the entire organization, which means you will always stay active in this department. The team functions effectively and there is great communication amongst and between different staff members.

Cons

Much of my role was administrative; it is difficult to fulfill programmatic services in this department.
