      Sycophancy is the way to progress

      Cons

      Hierarchical. Progress is based on sycophancy rather than performance/ability/experience. Poor understanding of diversity and inclusion, target setting leads to unfair employment/promotion prospects. Delusion that a higher corporate grade brings a higher level of knowledge/understanding in all subjects/facets of life. Lack of accountability/responsibility. Poor management.

      I think the only pro of working for Barclays is the people and the brand recognition. I’d say about 70% of the people are amazing helpful and outstanding however is the rotten 30% that ruins the whole experience

      Typical Barclays politics Continuously changing the goalpost Criminally underpaid for the level of work you do One of the worst IT systems I have ever worked with Senior leadership is absolutely toxic and does not deserve the ranks nor the reputation Numerous empty promises that I never for field Pay was messed up multiple times with zero accountability or was really rectified

      Cannot think of one pro for working for this company

      Cons

      Incompetent back stabbing managers. Too high of a call volume. Retaliatory managers. Upper management treats everyone below them as servants and you are just a number. Very controlling to the point of causing anxiety. Lots of employees are out on FMLA because of anxiety issues. No work life balance
