Pros

When I started it was overall a good company. Worked with a great team, developed some very valuable relationships that will last. Had the opportunity to rotate and learn different aspects within the Quality side of the business. I was happy working with the team and felt that I belonged. Lately things have changed with a new management team.

Cons

Very complex organisation. Middle management is caught between the top and bottom. A fair amount of corporate politics. Constantly restructuring and eliminating positions. Many quality issues and always firefighting. Cutting back on staff and increasing workload for the existing employees. Not enough product knowledge provided to the employees and very little budget for training. Managers are not given the reins to lead due to a number of restrictions and do not have their own budgets. Once you reach the level of manager there is no room to grow. Things have gone from better to worse not sure which way they are headed. I could go on .....

Pros

Inclusive team environment, work-life balance, flexible work hours. In my experience I always felt I was on a level playing field with anyone I conversed with no matter their level. I enjoyed the challenges as they helped me to grow both in my career and personally. I was fortunate to work in many divisions within the company. Some would call it annoying, I looked at it as opportunities to learn and grow.

Cons

My position was terminated abruptly along with those of several others, from a major corporate project. I'd heard of it happening previous to me being impacted but when I was terminated I really felt that as valuable as we were to the projects we were also just that dispensable, too. Baxter, despite positioning themselves to help patients, really are more about the money...in some cases dumping projects with the potential to become blockbuster therapies and the patients who were counting on it to live healthier lives.
