Stay Far Away

Pros

Sometimes you work with cool people in your role, including the customers you deal with.

Cons

The management will constantly belittle you and turn things into it being your fault or not an issue whenever you bring up anything that is going wrong, or if you tell them you need help. I've had a manager tell me that my disability has caused my coworkers to struggle with their workload, and that if I want any sort of training on the equipment we work on to further my career I need to come in on my time off between shifts to shadow more experienced technicians, so sleep and any sort of work-life balance is against the companies policy. Speaking of which, if you do not have any PTO in your bank (PTO and Sick Time is grouped into one lump sum), you are not allowed to call out sick for any reason or take any time off. They control when you take time off and you are punished for doing so by their metrics that measure your productivity that still take into account your time off instead of excluding that time from the calculations.

Baxter is tanking

Pros

Teamwork and co-workers are the only reason I stayed as long as i did. Benefits are OK not the best but not the worst. They have a great PTO package.

Cons

When i started at Hillrom I thought I was going to retire from this company. Ever since Baxter bought them out, ever since Baxter took this great Medical Devices company and have been going down hill. Direct hiring managers who have no clue instead of promoting within. Two weeks ago laying off 200 people in service. Now the people left are worrying about losing their jobs, and have to work harder for less money. CEO is a joke, you can't run a sevice department if you let go of 200 service technicians. Demands for FFS are ridiculous, you can't force hospitals to call us, even if they do we have no parts to fix the equipment. Constant pressure of performance doesn't matter if you were awarded service awards, they'll fire you. Save your time don't waste it with Baxter. You'll go no where but the employment office.

Uncertain Future

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Flexibility, Salary, Colleagues, International Presence

Cons

CEO with history of splitting up companies, too many Re-Orgs and layoffs meaning uncertain future, needs to scale down amount of meetings - always seem to have meetings about meetings. New hires being hired as fully remote while existing long term employees are required to go into the office. Outsourcing jobs or sending them overseas for cheaper pay.
