Pros

Working in a field where you feel like you’re making an impact Some good coworkers Innovative technology Easy commute close to home

Cons

Leadership out of touch. Sacrificing future for short term gains. No job safety for anyone not in C-Suite Nobody knows what they’re doing half the time because of the constantly changing directions and management. Joe is a lame duck.

Pros

The location is in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Cons

Worst culture I have ever encountered. Everyone there is dead inside. Management expects employees to work themselves to death. If you don’t kill yourself to get the job done, site head sends out emails to scold departments, dropping employees names in the emails. All systems and procedures are very outdated. Majority of things are forced into compliance. Only concern is batch deposition. Attendance policy is terrible. They use a point system, so if you call out or leave work early, no matter the reasoning, you receive a point and those points are used against your raise and bonus at the end of the year. Promotions are rare. Employees stay in current role for at least 2 years and up to 5 years, even at entry level. Employees don’t receive company match unless you stay for 3 years.

Pros

The people you work with directly, pay is okay for the positions, benefits are okay as well.

Cons

Loss of flexibility in your work days with the demand to be on-site. Lack of integrity and transparency in executive leadership. Lack of direction and communication through change management. You can forget having your email or IM answered in a timely manner or at all if you are not high enough on the food chain. Lay-offs that occur without any acknowledgement by executives. Promotions are based off of the good old boys network. Regardless of if you are a high performer and produce results, you absolutely will NOT be promoted if you are not apart of the inner circle of those networks.
