Pros

+ Nice campus and office environment (prior to offices closed due to COVID) + Relatively good pay + CEO with good vision and willingness to invest in technical innovation + Senior leadership in Enterprise Digital group are very thoughtful and caring (but overshadowed by the incompetent middle management sycophants)

Cons

- Performance and promotions are based on who likes you -- not whether you delivered significant business value - Managers promoted to their own level of *incompetence* - Everyone out for themselves - Managers take credit for what their team delivers - You only get a good review if someone else gets a bad one (bell curve) - Managers are limited to how many top performance or promotions they can put forward; so, others get left behind (even if they're doing a good job) - Incompetent managers are never fired -- only their victims that work for them - Improper conduct (harassment) by management only results in a slap on the wrist - Managers don't care if you succeed or fail; employee failure is never seen as a potential reflection on poor management / leadership

Pros

- The benefits are unparalleled - Colleagues are generally very helpful and supportive

Cons

- Promotions are not merit based. They're determined by how much 🍑 you can 💋 - Management couldn't care less about supporting their staff. They're all about destructive feedback, not constructive - Senior leadership have no business leading a company. They have no leadership skills, are completely out of touch, hardly communicate anything of value and definitely don't practice what they preach. - The Canadian business just fired over 1400 people (2 entire sites)…would a company that is well managed do that?

Pros

you could work here for the rest of your life

Cons

This place is absolute garbage. The culture is unbelievably toxic - people stopped addressing me in the 3rd person and just started addressing me in the 2nd person, e.g., "You will work 22 hours tomorrow" or "you will work 14 hours every saturday for the next 6 months, with no possiblity of vacation". The work life balance is non existent to say the least. I was promised I would be a software engineer and get to do what I love, but instead I'm just a janitor to work through these terrible internal processes and tools that are poorly defined and don't work 90% of the time. Literally everything I'm told to do is high priority fire drills that need to be resolved yesterday. This has been a complete waste of my life and is nothing but a red mark on my resume. I'm getting a raise with my next job, and cap 1 is even taking back my sign on bonus, so monetarily there's no reason to work here.
