Pros

Great benefits Good brand Fast paced environment

Cons

Bad calibration. People with wrong behavior get promoted Too much change with no proper planning Bad behavior is celebrated. You may not be appreciated for good work for any goof up will be used against u. Don't end up in legacy hsbc departments which has bad management and people with huge egos. Don't expect capital one culture there. HR is non existent and I seriously don't understand why they are paid.

Pros

The company is successful at keeping people in debt rather than working with customers to try and help manage their debt.

Cons

HR doesn't exist, no transparency, benefits are horrible, misleading advertising about committment to diversity, political and very white. Company values are not aligned with the current economic climate. The people are petty and lazy. This is not a proactive company, it is a reactive company.

Pros

Great benefits, 401k and vacation options. The corporate heads have a great vision & great ideas.

Cons

No appreciation for employees, the vision gets lost the further down the chain you go. There are way too many politics at play. They do not value long time employees. I've seen employees who have been with the company for 40+ years transferred to another location and then the branch closes & the employee laid off. They lay off employees when they close a location, employees are encouraged to apply internally, but are rarely hired. Capital One is looking to going "digital" so they want very few branches, so that mean very few employees, so if you want a company for the long haul, avoid here! They make big promises to get you on board and then there is no follow thru. In my 4 years, I've seen so much turnover, everyone below the CEO to me has changed. I've had 5 different managers in less than 4 years. I've seen older employees pressured and pushed out and managers advised to push older people out In favor of younger employees. There is very little career growth. Every person above me who was hired the past 4 years was external and very few people promoted, the ones who have been promoted have been "in" with leadership.
