Pros

You may get a chance to work with big name clients.

Cons

-For a tech company you would expect to be using top notch systems, this is very much not the case. Everything about Cognizant feels incredible dated and behind the times. Every process from billing time, to requesting PTO to contacting IT support is SLOWWW and inefficient. -We give our clients advice that we as a company do not take ourselves and it is very disingenuous. -Culture is non-existent. Nothing more can be said about it. -There are no incentives to stay long term. It is very difficult to get promoted, and often promotions are given without a pay bump. Long term employees get the same, bare-minimum amount of PTO as new hires. -Do not work here unless you are looking for a job that will treat you like a data point, rather than a valued employee. Cognizant has no interest in retaining employees because they know they can replace you with a cheap, off-shore employee at any time.

Collaborative is now Cognizant

Pros

Pay is excellent for internal workers and mixed for billable consultants, but the remote work aspect is fully embraced by the company so there is great flexibility in living situations. Good career opportunities and the chance for rapid advancement across all departments.

Cons

Collaborative has ceased to be its own company and is now conforming to Cognizant, the parent company, in benefits, policies, practices, etc. Work culture is at a low ebb as Senior Leadership is expected to routinely deliver bad news from the parent company without notice, so both morale and trust are very low. Internal teams are being laid off and support is transitioning to Cognizant, with a full rebrand of the company name not too far off. If you are considering joining Collaborative, bear in mind that you are actually joining Cognizant, so if you don't want to work for a massive, bureaucratic multi-national, you would be best-served to look elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are saddened by this outlook and encourage you to address any concerns with your manager, or People Services, if that is more comfortable for you.

Pros

Very large array of e-training is available Work-from-home Mostly left alone to do my job

Cons

I was at a company that was under 1000 people that was bought up by Softvision (which is part of Cognizant). Not only did Softvision have a horrible time integrating my former company into itself, Softvision isn't truly integrated with Cognizant. I went from a company where the CEO and most of the C-level folks knew everyone's name. In my case, the CEO and C-level folks knew me personally because of my roles in the company over time. At Cognizant Softvision I wouldn't even consider myself a cog in the machine, people like me are more like the grease between the cogs in the machine. And in many ways, that is the way it would have to be for a company with +300k people. Being told our reviews and raises are going to be delayed six months because Softvision is finally integrating with Cognizant.
