Pros

Great place to work for the self loathing types.

Cons

Dish Network is a toxic work environment. Dish Network is run by a parasitic billionaire who is narcissistic, psychopathic, sadistic, borderline personality disorder, compulsive liar, etc. Work from home is strictly frowned upon. You will be retaliated by upper management for addressing the elephant in the room. Charlie Ergen knows that everyone wants to work from home. He enjoys the power trip he gets by being able to have the power to force people to come into the office when he knows they don't want to. Charlie Ergen is an extremely evil man and is indicative of everything that is wrong with the world today. He is a greedy sociopath who is culling his American workforce and replacing them with cheap and submissive offshore and H1B immigrants. He is abusing the H1B program for cheap labor rather than for specialized labor that's unavailable from qualified Americans like its intended. Dish does not care about how smart or talented you are. Dish only cares about how submissive you are to the company propaganda (and there is a lot). There is an extremely bad vibe at all of the Dish offices. All the employees are quietly miserable but fearful of retaliation if they speak out, so they bottle up all the negativity and allow it to slowly poison them instead. Any sensitive person can feel the toxic energy wafting off the Meridian campus as soon as they set foot inside. Dish would rather pay off a third party company to "vote them a best place to work" and then spend tons of money advertising this false accomplishment, than actually make the necessary changes to truly be a best place to work. Notice how Dish's Glassdoor review is a 2.8/5. That's a 56%. Also known as an F. The industry average for Telecommunications is a 3.6/5. That's a 72%, which is a C- (passing grade). Notice how the employees of Dish didn't vote it a top place to work. An outside company that was paid by dish voted dish a top rated company. Don't you think it should be the actual employees who vote for whether it's a good place to work or not? On glassdoor we have voted. And we have given dish a FAILING GRADE. Back in 2013 Dish was voted the "meanest place to work" and "worst company to work for". Nothing has changed since then other than Dish's propaganda ministry has greatly increased their Orwellian corporate doublespeak. I attempted to start a union at Dish due to it being such a horrible place to work, so they opted to "lay me off" a mere month later without ever responding to my email inquiring about starting a union. Ever since then they have done nothing but lie to and gaslight me about their very blatant corporate retaliation for my attempt at collective bargaining. Oh yeah, and it's not called a "layoff" by Dish. It's called an "employee separation". And at no point did they say sorry or apologize for destroying 500 peoples lives. They didn't even say thanks for your service or anything. They just said "we wish you the best". Charlie Ergen is demonically possessed and is as evil as a human being possibly can be. Based on how he runs his company he is most assuredly a devil worshipper. Charlie Ergen is a terrible human being who does nothing but take without any consideration for how it affects the 10,000 people he is using and abusing.

Pros

None. Small pockets of talented people that eventually leave for better jobs.

Cons

DISH is a cesspool from the top down. The founder is a clueless, narcissist who surrounds himself with "Yes Men", has to be the smartest person in the room, and runs the company like it is still 1990. It's a failing business, read the news about DISH, that can't/won't adapt its culture to modern workforce. Here is just a taste of the "DISH Way" -Badge Report: If you arrive at any location later than 8:59 am your supervisor and HR receive an email of your "tardiness" Weather and traffic are not an excuse for being late. The owner when asked during a company meeting, "What if we get hit with a snowstorm the night before or morning of a work day?" He suggested getting a hotel room near the office and didn't mention expensing it. Yes, that really happened. -Typical "Office Space" work culture. Have you seen the movie Office Space? That's DISH. No real culture just a sad phrase that's supposed to drive you to do your best, "The DISH Way". It means nothing and is constantly used to gaslight employees into drinking the Kool-Aid -You are an employee number and nothing more. The turnover is ridiculous. HR will say it's due to the large volume of call center employees that quit, but corporate loses many amazing people regularly because of how inept and executive-focused the company is run. - Pay can be enticing depending on the position, but it's not worth the pain and suffering of the work. The benefits are sub-par and if you plan on having a family their maternity/paternity leave is non-existent. Health insurance plans are weak. Their big sell is investing in stock with the company. Check their stock prices, not a good financial move. Overall DISH and its partner companies lack organization, true leaders and the proper staffing to be successful. As long as the owner/founder helms the ship this company from the top down will not be successful no matter how much they spin potential new hires on the "opportunity" to be part of something great. Avoid at all costs.

Pros

Flexible Hours, United front despite lack of true team comradery, Commission and pay is decent.

Cons

Employees and management are very pretentious and fake. Leadership does not train its managers or make investments in them to keep them abreast of emerging management trends. Lacks the ability to resolve conflicts when they occur since they will tell you to solve the problem and request that you report back to make them continue looking like the good guy! Stay away from DISH if you're black because they'll do everything in their power to make you believe that you're the issue. Management loves to gaslight and use emoji's to seem sincere and in tuned. Customers are rude just like the employees and leaders who work for this organization. I would recommend the CEO, but he just came on board and is now being blamed for the sins of the former CEO!
