Pros

The people are excellent. You are surrounded by many intelligent, talented people who would go out of their way to help you. And you learn and do so much.

Cons

The office politics, the non-flexibility of work from home (company insists on everyone staying in office despite acknowledging that most people want to work from home), feels like people are afraid to be authentic around each other sometimes. High turnover so people are constantly leaving and things are constantly messy. Also the pay is awful.

Thank you for your review. We agree that our team members are our most important asset and strive to create an environment where everyone can be their authentic selves! For our in-office policy, we understand working from home was beneficial as we navigated the initial phases of COVID-19. However, with the ambitious goals we've set--and with the rollout of effective vaccines in full swing--we believe we work better and faster together when our team members can collaborate and brainstorm together in person.

Pros

- Most of the people working at Dish are well intentioned and want to do good work.

Cons

- Benefits are average at best - Limited flexibility. They have a tracking tool that follows pretty much where you are at all times. They'll explain away why it's not actually a tracking tool but it very much is. - The executive culture isn't good. Charlie Ergen (the founder) has surrounded himself with "yes-men" and it's very much a "the Emperor wears no clothes" situation. There are good executives but their ideas are quickly squashed if Charlie doesn't agree. - Dish wants to become a tech company but doesn't want to offer the salary, flexibility, benefits, culture, etc necessary to get there. - Very few certain/specific people are given the opportunity to work from home with no rhyme or reason but they will not even consider it for most employees.

Pros

Usually you don't have to work too many extra hours.

Cons

Culture of fear that starts at the top. Reverted and entrenched themselves into their old ways after the pandemic. Really doubled down on the dumb. Healthcare sucks.
