Pros

For the most part a good motivational energy, (Just keep swimming attitude) money set aside for events at the call centers that employees can participate in, anything that has nothing to do with the actual Job in other words.

Cons

Ive worked at Dish for a little over a year now and can't agree more with those who have commented below. Dishs CEO is blind if he is to ignore the people who 'cut the grass' as it were, what's ridiculous is the payload he expects every one to carry while calling everyone a salesperson to compensate for the companies failing revenue, and to complain about call flow at his call centers, while allowing repetitive takedowns of customers channels and embarrassing lawsuits over simple tech features on equipment to give leverage to other companies over dish...simply it is far too stressful a workplace with far too little compensation for the work being performed.

Pros

I love the people I have worked with at DISH through the years, and I love helping customers. I just wish I could stick to just helping them.

Cons

No employee loyalty. Inconsistent goals -- I may be well above goal normally, but for shift bids it doesn't matter. As a many-year rep considered one of the best in the building, I still get one of the worst shifts. Sales matters more than fixing things for tech support reps. Minor mistakes in what you say affect your QA scores, Customer satisfaction surveys greatly impact your standing, even when they are reviewing the company or what the previous agent did. Little or no chance to get holidays off. Even after many years of service I still only get 3 weeks off a year, and I MIGHT be able to get a holiday but it has varied each year. If you're not willing to move to Denver (headquarters), there is little to no upward mobility. Some positions are actually a step down in pay for regular agents.

Pros

Have a paycheck have a group of guys to talk to about this job

Cons

Everything down to the management, the goals they for you, if you want to hate a company so much this is the one. NO increase in pay unless you meet unrealistic numbers meaning close to 8 stats this have to be at a high percentage plus quality checks and safety checks that will catch you if you do meets the standards of the stats. Upper management that don't have a clue how it is out in the field management blaming everything in the company on the tech when they have the sales reps and dispatcher clearly doing there jobs wrong by giving the customer what they dont want and giving the recent tech that was there a trouble call (which we get paid for not having) because the equipment is garbage or the sales agent was too lazy to help the customer. YOU will never be a upper management because they hire from outside the company like competitor managers aka direct tv Comcast or like a furniture store or KFC manager. Nitpicking is there biggest way of managing. Rules and regulations are out the window when a new gm gets hired every half a year. Health benefits are junk.
