Pros

P4P (pay for performance) is a nice incentive, but does not make for a great customer experience. I love Dish TV. But as far as being employed, never again.

Cons

Dish is a terrible company to work for. Long hours, every customer is upset, and you are watched constantly. I understand quality assurance, but some employees get non-negotiable for legit trying to help customers. I got one for applying credits for a customer crying and cussing at me.You have to ask for approval through your coach or team lead and they take forever to reply, which causes your AHT (handle time) to increase significantly and in the long run you get in trouble for it. It's like your the bearer of bad news constantly. Especially when a customer is experiencing bad weather and they are without TV. You just have to tell them "You will have to wait until the storm passes". I know there is nothing we can do, but it just sucks when the customer escalates in a situation like that. ALSO, do NOT plan on being human while working for Dish because it just will not work out. Attendance policy is not understanding at all, which attributes to why attrition is so substantially high.

Pros

You have lots of support to learn how to do the job well. Plenty of opportunities to be rewarded for hard work. Holiday pay and overtime. Usually get one holiday guaranteed off. Medical, vision, dental, life, and accident insurance. You only pay equipment fees and taxes on your Dish bill. Discounts at certain stores.

Cons

Dealing with difficult customers. That's the hardest part of the whole job. You need to be able to take constructive criticism from your supervisor.

Pros

Great work atmosphere. Supervisors were friendly and helpful, and everyone was approachable. Decent starting pay ($10/hour) with opportunities for raises over time. Easy and fun if one can multitask well. Helping customers in need feels genuinely good and this position allows one to sort of reach into their lives and provide assistance. Merchandise giveaways from HBO, Cinemax, and the like. Easy chances for bonuses, prizes for sales, etc.

Cons

Too much emphasis on sales. Inconsistent up-training opportunities, and competitive enrollment in training. Also, not for the light-hearted due to angry customers or tragic situations regarding accounts or customers' property. The level of management below the highest were rather cold personalities, and that level alone.
