Pros

Competitive commission. Easy access to necessary info while working. Immediate manager support always available.

Cons

Everchanging methods and strategies that management wants implemented. The nature of the phone calls is very mentally and emotionally taxing

Pros

- Sometimes you luck out with a good team/manager - Okay-ish pay - Recently stated promoting internally

Cons

- Like school, must badge in before 9AM or your manager gets and email - Restricted to stay inside the building for 8hrs. 8hrs+ if you want to be promoted. Tracks your time diligently. - No hybrid or remote options and no flexibility, worse in some teams. - Top down approach when it comes to running the business, you will constantly be putting out fires because someone in leadership feels a certain way and it needs to be changed immediately. - You will constantly be told how you are not doing a good job by either you manager, or skip and maybe even other people not on your team - No cross functional collaboration - Calls itself as agile but truly is the most waterfall, there is a 7+ step process for pushing anything to production

Pros

I cannot think of a single pro

Cons

Did a contract role with Dish and found it to be so intolerable that I quit after 1 day. Not kidding. They had lunch set out for new hires. They were very clear with me that I was NOT to touch the lunch food because I was a contract role They didn't know where to put me on day 1, so they gave me a desk with old coffee cups and old food on it. I was forced to listen to small talk for hours about how Dish was the next big thing (Felt like a fever dream) My manager could not have cared less to have a conversation with me. The language barrier between the people I was supposed to be learning from was so bad that I would ask them to repeat themselves 4 or 5 times each time they said something. Eventually I just gave up and started nodding my head. A dying company with awful culture. Avoid at all costs. The salary they offered me was 45% more than what I was making, and that still wasn't enough to convince me to stay more than 1 day.

It is incredibly concerning to read about the experience you had on your first day with us. We strive to provide a welcoming and professional environment for everyone who joins our team, regardless of their employment status, and it is clear that we missed the mark significantly in your case. From the cleanliness of your workspace to the way you were treated regarding team amenities, this is certainly not the standard of hospitality or culture we aim to uphold. We take your feedback seriously as it highlights critical areas where our onboarding and management support need immediate attention. It is our goal to ensure every individual feels respected and equipped to succeed from the moment they walk through our doors. Given the nature of your concerns regarding your treatment and the environment, we would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about this situation. Please consider reaching out to us at peopleoperations@dish.com so we can address these matters further.
