Unprofessional & Dishonest Management

Pros

- Remote Working - Friendly Colleagues - Health Benefits and 401k match (Though definitely not the best I've ever had)

Cons

- Dishonest management. The CEO and CFO will tell you how great the financials are and then with moments later your managers will start to reduce headcount. - Very tight on company travel, company credit card spends, and home office supply purchases. - Unprofessional. Anytime new leaders come in, they immediately clean house and "replace/reorg" the team. You'll be picking up the slack for lost employees and they won't replace so then your working double the work. - Pay is NOT competitive Look at their competitors, they are paying / offering more than double for the same role

You can find better!

Pros

Benefits, vacation time off, quick interviewing process

Cons

Too much work load on one employee to handle multiple responsibilities! They will bring you in for as cheap as possible and then they will let the contractors go, so that money can be saved. Then they will make you take up all the work and over burden you without little or no training. You will have to figure out everything on your own which wastes time and energy. Doesn’t make the work enjoyable even if you really try to. They will work you like a dog every single day without any appreciation. Only the senior and favorites get recognition while the hardworking lower employees are looked upon as mere laborers. Go somewhere else where you think your worth will be recognized. This isn’t the place. You will feel like you are nothing but a servant to them. They want to bring in smart people for less money and treat them like unworthy candidates.

Pros

Good pay and benefits if you are into the hosted solutions world. Good company to take a little knowledge and get some crash course experience. Don't expect any sort of training. Pay was good but several stop and starts on raises.

Cons

Hard to say as so many. I worked for the company for 15 years as a on-site IT consultant. When the company "history" started as Collegis it was a great environment. Lots of sharing of info from corporate, lots of communication and several onsite visits from the regional manager and corporate tier two support. I went to some sort of training at least once a year. The Sungard buyout brought all the support and cohesiveness across the distance to a complete halt. Now they owned several higher education applications and Collegis was software agnostic onsite support called "Managed services, not a good fit. But in the field the onsite consultants more than 75 % of the personnel and only %50 of the profits kinds of got forgot about. The distance actually reduced the number of visits and buffered us from the twist and turns of corporate, so much so that we stopped attending the "all-hands" conference calls they just wanted to tout the greatness of Banner and Banner online. The client site I worked at is not Banner. Sungard to Ellucian now it is my speculation that SunGuard found a way to offload "managed services" to Datatel (now Ellucian) again the miles and now merging of two software companies wasn't bad enough the managed services is now relatively reduced to nothing. I did not receive any formal tech training for YEARS. When I finally had the opportunity to stay with my site after the end of the contract I jumped at the opportunity and have now recieved more training and opportunities than all 15 years with Collegis, Sungard, DataTel, Ellucian.
