Pros

Emergo is a great place for recent college graduates. The environment is young. The PTO is excellent and the hours are flexible. The UL Staff are friendly and really want to see everyone succeed. The job is interesting. The colleagues around the globe are incredible to work with and the connections you make are great for your future. Great connections!

Cons

Unfortunately Emergo plays favoritism. Management is obvious about this, especially in the months that led to the UL merge. The workload does not match the compensation. You are constantly playing "catch-up," and it's never clear who your immediate supervisor is. Don't expect to move up quickly or be able to afford a decent living with the compensation here. It seems that management is terrified of the UL merge and keep making up ridiculous rules to keep their job. This job has been mentally difficult. The favoritism makes the entire experience horrible. It is hard to look forward to work when all of this is happening. -Compensation, compensation, compensation. Lastly, look at all of the review dates! The company bought tacos for everyone after we were told to post reviews in March.

Pros

- Office management very responsive to the needs of employees -Positive, friendly coworkers -Opportunity to learn a great deal about the niche medical device regulatory industry -Beautiful, modern office space; great location -Interacting with top executives at medical device companies -The mission of helping people get their medical devices to markets -Very nice benefits (outside of base pay)

Cons

-Low starting pay -Some uncertainty regarding what changes the new acquisition will bring, especially now that UL has the final say on many issues. However, management goes to great lengths to make the process as transparent as possible and it is expected to bring a lot of growth for the company.

Pros

The beginning is usually great, despite low-to-mid pay and the benefits. People can be fun, they are usually young and positive, that is, as long as they just started with the company.

Cons

The more you progress, the more you'll learn about people behind their roles and the politics between departments, and it's not always pretty. There will often be secrets and half-information, and the transparency is lacking. After the steep learning curve, everyday work can get rather repetitive and boring. Different departments are not communicating well and love to play the blame game. Working at Emergo will prepare you well for your future career, since people tend to end up at cool places after they're done with Emergo.
