Pros

Ideal for 20-somethings who seek experience in a corporate environment. Weekly happy hours. Colleagues are usually easy to work with.

Cons

Salary is low to mid-grade, depending on how long you have been at the company. Some of the decisions management makes regarding team structure aren't always logical, or seem to be well thought out, leaving team members to wonder why the changes are even taking place. High turnover. Workload is high, so there is not usually enough time to absorb market knowledge which is, of course, highly encouraged but unrealistic. Favoritism has been observed. Superiors have been known to make inappropriate and unprofessional comments.

Not a bad place to start out but...

Pros

PTO 23 days, standard healthcare. Occasional office parties. Not a bad place to be starting off in your career. Most people quickly realize (around 9m-1y. mark) that most of the managers will not want you to move up and a lot of the workforce (very young) will feel stuck. Currently being acquired by UL so hopefully it will be a positive influence .

Cons

Extremely low pay, managers do not want you to grow, zero training. Management style varies. So many managers pretend they have so much work/overworked so they push things off to employees but they spend a good chunk of time watching youtube videos. I have been on copy when some managers are extremely rude to employees or consultants. Goodluck if you have a family. They are not understanding and refuse to let anyone work from home but some managers do work remotely on a regular basis.

Pros

Emergo is a great place for recent college graduates. The environment is young. The PTO is excellent and the hours are flexible. The UL Staff are friendly and really want to see everyone succeed. The job is interesting. The colleagues around the globe are incredible to work with and the connections you make are great for your future. Great connections!

Cons

Unfortunately Emergo plays favoritism. Management is obvious about this, especially in the months that led to the UL merge. The workload does not match the compensation. You are constantly playing "catch-up," and it's never clear who your immediate supervisor is. Don't expect to move up quickly or be able to afford a decent living with the compensation here. It seems that management is terrified of the UL merge and keep making up ridiculous rules to keep their job. This job has been mentally difficult. The favoritism makes the entire experience horrible. It is hard to look forward to work when all of this is happening. -Compensation, compensation, compensation. Lastly, look at all of the review dates! The company bought tacos for everyone after we were told to post reviews in March.
