Pros

Fun people, semi-relaxed environment, work-life balance, team building.

Cons

Vast chasms of collaboration between Services and Support groups. The services groups (motivated by many project managers and a chance for a small bonus if they log 90% billable time) was absolutely horrid to work for, when the support groups had the same goals in mind for the company, for the same customers. Support groups, who also were required to maintain software deliveries, had to beg for time on the customers lab systems to QA bug fixes introduced by the Services group's hastily released updates. Constant struggle.

Pros

Epicor has a very young culture in the marketing/sales department, frequent happy hours/office events make it very easy to make friends as a young professional. The company is growing and there are frequent opportunities for internal promotions. Minneapolis managers genuinely want to see their employees succeed within the company and make it easy to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Great way to get your 'foot in the door' with the software industry.

Cons

Starting pay is below industry average and informal training requires new employees to extend a lot of effort learning the products and internal processes.

Pros

The people are the best reason for me. I took on a role that had not be filled for a little over a year so there is still a great deal of backlog. The people I work with have been very supportive in terms of their understanding, willingness to help, and guidance, I really look forward to the growth possibilities once the backlog is fulfilled.

Cons

Like with many ERP companies who have gone through mergers and acquisitions over the past decade, Epicor is still working to bring the best of processes from previous organizations. I believe with the focus at the executive level we will have this under control over the next six months.
