Pros

The brand is cool and the employee discounts are nice.

Cons

There is zero work/life balance at Fender--it's the classic “hustle” vibe and no one respects anyone’s time. The execs share videos of kids opening gifted instruments or of rock stars playing a Strat to manipulate you into breaking your back for this company. Two colleagues who recently had children where praised for working late hours instead of being with their newborns. -There’s no growth potential because Fender “doesn’t do” promotions and loyal employees have to go through the interview process like their equity in the company means nothing and they’re not any better than some rando off the street. -Morale was super low on my team, demonstrated by everyone over 2 years leaving or trying to leave and even new hires having second thoughts. No one on the team was ever trained-- just thrown into work at full speed.

Pros

Access to cheap guitars. Wok with cool people/ musicians. Surrounded by music.

Cons

Upper level does not understand the value of product design. They see design as people who create logos, bandjam posters and beautiful mock-ups. The key leader of digital product doesn’t know how to play guitars nor basic knowledge of music theory. Make design decisions without design background, only based on personal taste and $$. No one can answer the question of who are our users? No official study about the users and personas. Poor user research and Usertesting process due to lack of knowledge and support from the upper management. Key leaders doesn’t know what is the difference between UX and UI design. Doesn’t know how to use technology. Micromanagement and toxic design review process. No one dare to express their honest opinions while the The person is in the room even false decisions are being made.
