Great Opportunities

Pros

There are good opportunities at Fender. I've seen several of my peers work hard and take advantage of the resources around them, so when chances for advancement or recognition come up, they are ready to take on the challenge. Those who set themselves up for success, generally receive it. Most of the people here are genuinely nice to be around, it's been easy to make friends. People truly care about their jobs and the organization. Also, it never gets old telling people you work for Fender, or explaining the sweet product discounts.

Cons

The cafeteria is so awesome, but no one spends time there! It's sad to see such a cool place empty. Hard work should be recognized more often. It happens within individual departments, but it'd be nice to celebrate success of my coworkers who I don't typically see/talk to.

A Great opportunity being ignored

Pros

The music products industry as a whole is pretty exciting. The people are creative with a passion for music. That creates a culture of family that extends beyond the company to include the customer base.

Cons

The industry is challenged by both economic issues that limit discretionary spending and competition from other options that create stimulus to young people - bringing a base of new customers to music instruments is very difficult. The company has had its own challenges to due Sr. Leadership that was under qualified to deal with the issues and created huge financial losses. A new team is in place and working to restore the companies position and equity
