Pros

Numerous activities, resources, and events. Access to large scale prominent projects, great peers, Looks good on a resume. Generally good work life balance, depending upon projects and studio.

Cons

Incredibly political, toxic culture, sexism, and racism abound. Difficult to get well-rounded experience. Lower pay than competitors. Difficult to change studios or offices, even though the firm advertises this as an option during recruiting. Continuous turn-over. The firm doesn't value one's unique personality traits, they want an employee to adjust to fit the ideal Gensler typology, Loud and obnoxious with mediocre design sensibility.

Pros

Resources of a large firm, lots of free food and booze

Cons

the managers and leaders of the office don't seem to know what they're doing. I heard it was a lot better before the new leadership. It's an extremely stressful environment, but not so much from the work, it's the higher ups. You can go from having no hours staffed for you one week to being staffed 60+ hours the next week and nobody comes and talks to you about it, you just see it in staffing. Is it real, I don't know?
