Pros

The office is business casual and in a decent location. There is also an opportunity for free training or “refresher” training on certain office software if you are in administrative support. If you are lucky enough to support a service line that values your input and empowers you to do your job, you can count yourself lucky. I got lucky in this regard. Good place to get your “feet wet” for those wanting to jump into the public accounting arena or new to the workforce.

Cons

• Office politics (interpersonal skills) & not performance play hand in far too much & input appears to be encouraged to pacify not improve. • Culture journey teaches you how to play "office politics" with a smile • Processes are unnecessarily complicated & very little guidance is offered. • Lack of communication, organizational structure & clear guidelines across all levels causes unnecessary confusion • Compensation low for experience; no opportunity for bonuses and extremely low raise percentage if any at all • Support staff treated as they should be seen not heard *Under utilizes the technology at their fingertips

Bad for IT professionals

Pros

Flexible work arrangements, training encouraged, competitive salary. Before IT was outsourced management cared about employees and culture was like a family. 20 days PTO, pension

Cons

After bringing on a consulting firm for staff augmentation they slowly sold their services until they now run IT with very few internal employees left. Morale in IT was nonexistent. Raises are sad. If you are a top performers it might be 5%. Bonus structure not clear about 5k for an employee making 100k a year. Hard to believe we were best place to work in IT just a few years ago.

Pros

Good exposure to lots of different types of companies. Experience to get your CPA certificate hours. Meets lots of people and you are constantly learning

Cons

Most of the people that you meet are very particular and easily annoyed. If you were a nerd in college then it's likely that you will fit right in. If you were well liked and liked being around people, it's likely that you will have a harder time fitting in. Politics plays a great role at this firm. Expect to get paid very little and work extremely long hours. The work is arduous and boring. It's extremely difficult to study for your CPA and work here but it can be done. Personally, I had to find a position where I had more time to study and then I passed my CPA without a problem. This place expects you to make no money, work crazy hours, study for your CPA, drive to and from clients, and not to make mistakes at work. Good luck here.
