Pros

Firm leadership recognizes that work/life balance can be a challenge in the industry and the new Flexible Time Off policy allows employees to take the time they need to take care of both their personal and professional commitments. During the 3 years I have been with the firm, I have seen a true cultural transformation which has made coming to work every day much more enjoyable. I love the people I work with and the direction that the firm is going. I am proud to say I work at GT.

Cons

The firm is constantly evolving which is great, but there tends to be a lag between adding job responsibilities and adding additional resources.

We have the newest technology in the office and for our computers. I enjoyed the people that I have been able to work with.

Cons

With an MBA I could not get a promotion internally, since I was not client facing I did not seems to be a priority to their talent retention plans.

Pros

Has fun culture initiatives, fair pay

Cons

Confused management, no opportunity to really make your voice heard, especially if you're lower level. I worked in the marketing department, and was constantly frustrated. From vague performance reviews (so they don't have to give you a raise), to clique-y groups, to boring design monkey work (I was a graphic designer). If the Partners say jump, you need to say "how high?" no matter what the request, even if it meant turning out a bad project. Questioning "how things have always been done," was DEFINITELY not allowed. Work/life balance was awful. People in my department regularly stayed until 7 or later, so much so that when someone tried to leave at 5, they weren't considered "dedicated enough to the company." Once you got home, you were expected to be online, if not working, then on call. I worked many, many, weekends, once even missing my husband's birthday. Opportunities for advancement were minimal, and the marketing direction has changed several times in the last few years, with extremely high turnover. Mass firings were the norm in my department, keeping morale low. Extreme lack of diversity. As a person of color I was one of maybe four POC in the entire building who was not in an admin role. Overall, one of the worst jobs I've ever had.
