Pros

The people at this firm are genuinely interesting and fun to work with.

Cons

Unrealistic utilization goals for associates and senior associates. Grant Thornton is looking to expand its influence but has drastically over hired and many hires have to wait months to get on a project. Paying employees 65k + to do busy work and not get staffed is a bad business practice.

A Challenging Environment with Great Opportunities

Pros

Colleagues who genuinely care and respect their fellow employees. A supportive environment founded upon deeply rooted cultural values. Countless opportunities and resources to encourage employees to focus their career in the direction that suits their lifestyle best. You quickly feel like you are welcome and at home at Grant Thornton! I can easily say I admire and aspire to be many of the leaders at this firm, at the local and national level.

Cons

Busy season hours impede upon work life balance. However, the flexible time off policy rewards employees by encouraging them to take time off during slower periods to compensate for the tough hourly demands this industry requires.

Pros

Aware that there is a need to change the environment/culture so training is a big part of the organization.

Cons

People are very separated and there is a huge mindset from leaders that is very different from the training given to change the culture. The organization was misleading about the role and work done in the FS group. Doesn't seem the organization has the maturity in the industry to really grow as they want to outside of the Accounting/Audit/BAS groups.
