HR was beyond incompetent. They didn't seem to know anything about any benefits. They couldn't be counted on to reply to anything, ever. By the time I had left, they had also removed any ability to send email to HR, only allowing a ticketing system. Also, after several re-orgs, new management came in who had no respect or concern for their actual direct reporting teams. Not only were they only focussed on cutting costs (often at the expense of actually getting work done), they also thought it was reasonable to lie to their reports, about small, daily work-related things, With no respect from the top to the bottom, there is no respect in the other direction either. Shameful. Note - issues may have improved after the sale to the european car makers - I left just around that announcement.
