      Relaxed company, no way to go higher up.

      Pros

      Flexible hours and a very relaxed, calm environment (most of the time). The management is somewhat flexible; if you have an emergency and you need to leave, they completely understand. As long as you don't abuse the relationship with managers, everything is actually pretty good. Most holidays are noticed, which is a plus.

      Cons

      No way to go higher up the company ladder at the moment. You pretty much stay with where you applied to, unless you put in much more extended effort than what would be normally asked of you. Very hard to stay positive about the work when it is based on proprietary software that only updates when changes are critically needed.

      Pros

      I've been an engineer at HERE for about a year now, and have loved my experiences here -- learned a ton of AWS, front end engineering, getting in the weeds with jenkins, etc... Also have enjoyed the people here. Very intelligent, easy to get along with group who seeks to nurture new talent.

      Cons

      A lack of product management at the company has led to engineers taking on a wider role to fill those responsibilities. Would be nice to have more PM's to clearly define a vision, drive building so that engineers have more freed up time to simply develop.
