Pros

Nothing good at all at HP

Cons

Printing and PCs are dead. The business is falling apart. Management only makes numbers look good using layoffs and cost reduction. Deadlines are tight, scope is high and resources are low. There is no development at all. One has to wait over 15 years to get a promotion and salary raises are below 3% at best. A lot of experienced employee are complacent because they won’t get fired. They don’t add value to the teams and get away with doing the minimum. They know HP will pay everyone the same regardless of performance so why bother working hard? This leaves 1-2 people from the team doing most of the work until they burn and leave to go elsewhere

Pros

Things have improved since the Hurd locker days. The HP Way still stirs at times.

Cons

Risk of a focus on temporary short term results for Wall Street at the expense of long term R&D investment (doubling down on the Hurd strategy?).

Hello and thank you for your review! Your feedback is important to us and will be communicated to our senior managers. To your point about R&D investment, in the past years the investments in R&D have increased, since innovation is our ethos. ~ Madalina Antohe, Employer brand and digital media

A company that's lost it's way

Pros

A tremendous number of excellent people in the working ranks. Loads of talent, and a lot to learn about large scale and how to make it run if you're part of the right team.

Cons

Many penny wise and pound foolish decisions being made every day. Executive management doesn't really understand that in a services business the first and foremost thing is having people that can deliver. Decisions such as firing all the work-from-home workers to improve "collaboration" when HP was the one that sent them home by closing their offices doesn't inspire people to provide service excellence. You get service excellence by treating people honestly and fairly, make decisions that make sense that they understand, and compensate them appropriately when they do provide that excellent service you desire.

Hi there! Thank you for your review and for your feedback! We appreciate your pointing out that we have a lot of talented employees and that there is a lot to learn here, especially coming from someone who had your tenure. I noted your advice to management and the cons. Although I don't think that this was the experience for most of our employees in services in HP Inc., I appreciate your opinion. ~ Madalina, Employer branding & digital media
