Don't waste your time unless you're looking for your first job.
Pros
Decent benefits, pay is ok, not great but acceptable... For some connected individuals it can be quite lucrative. The science behind the products is good. On-site daycare.
Cons
Dysfunctional management, dysfunctional systems, uneven skill levels of employees (some are skilled and knowledgable, but most aren't), R+D is like summer camp (they are treated with kid gloves, but haven't done anything useful in over a decade). A fair amount of good 'ole boy networking (ex-Covidien and Gillette employees killed the company). Simple engineering changes require an immense amount of leg work, there are limited skilled resources available and they're all on the same projects. Layoffs happen with alarming frequency, people seems to just disappear and everyone dumps on them regardless of if they deserve it. Some people try to do the right thing, some people try to just do things, with the current staff - the 'thing do-ers' just spin their wheels. Middle management is weak, plain and simple. They needed bodies and staffed up after the pall acquisition with a lot of dead weight.
