- Advised to follow by example of management to break health and safety rules, and go against their own code of conduct by falsifying pool readings and allowing customers to use the pool when there were excessive/insufficient levels of chlorine or pH. - It was said that the equipment was temperamental but there was not enough money in the budget to afford a fix.
- Further to the above, management advised for the pool to remain open after a pool light had detached from the wall resulting in a thick electrical wire being exposed in water. Customers were in the pool when this was reported and naturally shared my concern. This remained unfixed and frequently occurred for the remainder of time I was working there.
- Mislead by management into working public holidays "to receive double pay". A lie I was led to believe at the advantage of management having a day off at my expense. This appears to be acceptable practice as I had escalated the matter further up the chain only for nothing to come from it. Instead, I was ultimately dismissed for raising this very real concern.
- Zero appreciation or respect is given to staff by their department head - This is coming from a person who was turning down work (for several months) that was almost 3 times the salary and of which I enjoyed doing a lot more, for work I was not required to do at Hilton (being a casual employee) but did out of courtesy and to help my manager out until she found a replacement.
