Odd mix of good and bad

Pros

1. Very good offshore delivery capabilities. Have rarely seen project work quality getting affected despite process issues 2. Quite ethical in financial matters, with employees and customers 3. Investments in processes, people and infrastructure to control at least some of the challenges of running business 4. Good brand name. Financially sound

Cons

1. Very conservative outlook. Management loves to try and hide behind processes but it is very clear to everyone else that rules are for denying things to most while get modified for few 2. Lack of work life balance for most 'working people'. I think onsite people spend close to 12 hours per day at work at a minimum - if you include offshore calls plus regulard work. 3. Too much focus on 'Next Billion'. Too many good, grounds up ideas get killed as they will not get the next bilion in next 6 six months..

Pros

Good facilities. Nice Campus and work place.

Cons

Infosys is a good Company to start your career but the management people will dis hurt-en you. There is no balance of work and social life. They treat you as a machine and expect you to sit for long hours. Managers are technically dumb.

Pros

HR organises employee friendly activites for killing time of people on bench Gym & other facilites Campus Toilets

Cons

No offense but felt it is worth penning down my experience.. its real on the luck of the person to be in right place at right time....for anything in life.. Out of my frustration i am writing.. and got fully demotivated to work ..working for sake of living.. 1.Charges heavy on transportation suc** the last bus is at 8:10 AM, and next available transport at 10:30 or so.. who the hell wants to wait till 10:30 AM 2.Far away campus hides the employees in SEZ areas for thier profits, who are on bench etc..for cost cutting..they again turn into non-SEZ areas in a year.. 3.My first experience on 2nd day , felt like a GOVT office, i was supposed to join a"XX" unit, was told by HR to meet a person(some very big guy forgot his designation and how he matter for "XX: unit, ) in some building which is very far from HR orientation , seriously I have no clue why i had to meet this guy to tell that i joined infy.. he is no where in picture till today...he did introduce to any one..he asked me to go and meet one XX HR lady .. till today i was guessing what her real job is ..:) just telling to go and meet your practice folks in building so and so.. she didnt offically introduce me to anyone..it looks to me still she is a extra character not requried..at all..nor she knows the strength f the unit.. nor she allocates resources..nor conducts interview..i really dont know why infy hires & keep some unwanted roles for no benefit.. my epxerience was like joininga govt office..where you are asked to meet so many people before getting to your workarea or cubicle.. 4.no system for 7 days.. roam on campus./.find place under tree funny 5.campus is good to show off.. but utter stu***idea of placing all units at one location.. they can have multiple locations right..and can have internal commute every 2 hrs from one place to other..atleast maintain 3 locations in one city..it woudl be ease for employees to travel.. 6.Managers speak in local language..it suc** :) they dont look professional..they are in favour of who butter them...i saw managers who take things personally even having 12+ yrs experience.. and dont respond.. no professional behaviour.. 8.even senior people are treated as tech leads.. they dont give the role they fit in.. after spending 4 yrs @ onsite.. and joining Infy.. you still get the same pay pack as you got in the prev company..when you left for onsite.. be AWARE you need to go for 20% if you think about joining Infy..if you are expecting 10% hike in salary.. all are hidden & tax driven..i take home the same amount which I used to take 6 yrs back in offshore..i can jump for salary to some other company but its not good on your resume to hop ...in short time..you become the victim 9.no offence to any caste or religion as such ..but people who are baniayya.etc are smart enough to handle middle managers SPM..etc with thier buttering talents.. showing or targeting others on team that they dont know the subject.. 10.They expect team lead or tech lead to do all documentation, development.who has 7 or 8 yrs..still doing that sh**work ... make you work like a dog.. even so rude that ask a women to come at night to work on campus if some delivery is not done on same day..they call and su**..these are the guys estimate epople work for 14 hrs a day and leave to home staying far away place from campus..how these bull sh** guys give estimates with 8.8 hrs 4 resources..and when they need 9 resources together with 14 hrs @ day work..cheap guys.. all for to bag projects with less estimates..but make people work for 15 hrs.. and top of it..manager doesnt even appreciate right..the worst thing that happens to you is he will not even bother to approve your excess hour request..comp-off...i have no other words to describe these stu*** managers.... ...
