Opportunity to be part of exciting research, fantastic local staff.

Cons

Staff expected to work crazy hours, vacation requests frequently turned down, PIs very protective of data, low salary, limited opportunities for advancement, most expat hires recent grads who are expected to work like crazy in exchange for PhD rec letter.

Pros

Great exposure to on the ground academic field work and see how randomized controlled trials are conducted in practice. Good opportunity to brush up on Stata skills while managing data flow and good experience to work/live in a developing country.

Cons

Can be a bit overwhelming managing the data flow process in the field. Learning curve is steep and need to be able to learn fast.

If you're looking to gain insight into the research world, work with some of the most innovative researchers in the field and want to get the hang of project development and management, this is definitely a great place for you. Biggest upside to working here is the people you get to work with.

Cons
