Pros

Some people love working for IPA so they are really into their work, which is exciting and fun to be around. You can get lots of responsibility. The people are very smart and fun and there is a good work culture, if you're into the work/life balance leaning more to the work side.

Cons

There is very little guidance given and the organization is poorly run. Compensation is very low. Not a lot of understanding and a lot of the work you do is over email which can be difficult. The main thing is that, outside of running surveys, there isn't much in terms of training you in how to work within the environment and what you have to do, so it's like you have to learn on the job with nobody telling you how to do things correctly. You never hear when you've done something well, only when you've screwed up, which is bound to happen since there isn't proper training for non-survey work.

Pros

Lots of responsibility, gain solid experience in project management and supervising a team, also good experience in program evaluation and working with data, good networking with PIs

Cons

Very low compensation, staff extremely over-worked and no work-life balance (most positions should be divided into two), PIs pretty much expect staff to respond to emails around the clock, no guidance just figure it out yourself

Pros

-IPA enforces they time-off policies very well -They also to some extent try to stick to the values and mission statement.

Cons

-There is no room for personal growth at all especially in the lower positions (i.e. field officers, research officers) -The compensation is pathetic for the lower cadres in the organisation given the amount of work they do i.e. for field officers -The management is not open to criticism and is not open-minded and hence tend to be very egotistical -The decision making process is top-down and not all inclusive as it should be
