The other workers are very passionate, friendly, willing to teach you how to use the various programs. The work can be extremely rewarding because it is unlike anything else you have probably ever done before - working with recently relocated refugees is not something you can really prepare for, but the staff will help you learn quickly.

Cons

The work is extremely challenging and can be tiring - repetitive days, working with occasionally difficult clients.

Experiences you won't find anywhere else. The gratitude from clients makes this work incredibly fulfilling. Complex issues and problems that need creative solutions.

Cons

Language barrier is too often a problem. Compensation can be limited and few perks.

Pros

The employees that work here are great coworkers The organization is innovative for a large NGO People are open and there are lots of opportunities to learn about others roles They have really strong benefits for an NGO. Lots of vacation days, 403b match, pretty good healthcare

Cons

It is difficult to move up within the organization. There is so much competition that you often have to leave and come back in order to make yourself qualified for a more senior position.
