Pros

Big company with lots of opportunities. Because they are a $40B organization, they have opportunities for all functions and levels.

Cons

The company is ruthless and will cut people to make short terms results. They average one restructuring per year where the eliminate roles in an attempt to deliver the short terms results promised to the street.

Pros

Company with a long-standing presence and good products

Cons

People are just a number, not a name; they don't care about employees and the HR teams are the worst of them. Recently, they send out a letter to many employees offering them "voluntary separation" in order to downsize/cut costs in their offices-with the threat that if enough didn't volunteer, involuntary separations might occur

Pros

Opportunities frequently present themselves in this multinational at the local level. The businesses are straight forward enough that one quickly gains insight to the industry that JCI division is in. Stretigic leadership from Milwaukee is good. Training is available for a number of job specific and leadership roles Compensation and benefits are mid-range competitive.

Cons

The core business the company is in car seats, building HVAC equipment, and batteries are aggressively competitive and drive constant change management at JCI leading to long working hours, poor to no work life balance, clustered of overworked employees at all levels next to clusters of poorly performing employees. The company has an unhealthy turnover rate amoung it's high talent members. Training as been shrinking over the years, and waves of layoffs mean no one can plan anymore to stay at this company for more than 4 to 6 years.
