Pros

Huge company with great benefits and very friendly and personable coworkers. Company consistently grew year over year and it was exciting to be a part of it.

Cons

For how big a company it is, JCI operates in silos - that is to say that the different divisions don't talk to one another and it is very hard to transfer into another group. Stress can be high at times during the year, especially around Aug/Sept right before the close of the fiscal year. Variable pay (bonuses) don't start until you are at Sr Manager level, which is a very small % of the employee population...and even then the bonus % aren't very high and seldom get paid out at 100%

Pros

401k match is only real benefit. Medical benefits not too bad (I've seen much better).

Cons

Company values, no quality, poor process controls (operator Dependant), wasteful, management poor, don't take safety serious enough, works with very dangerous substances, no cohesiveness in management (working I dependantly),promise / instructed to do one thing and then get yelled at for doing it, direction changes daily, mgmt yells at their staff, no matter what you do it isn't good enough.

Pros

Compensation and benefits are what's standard in the industry. National and Global presence, decent products.

Cons

Poor management at several levels, which explains the high turn over rate. Inexperience technicians and poorly trained testing and inspection technicians, none of the technicians in the branch I worked had the appropriate certification (NICET Certification). In the many years I've worked in this industry, with all due respect my experience with Johnson Controls was the worst. In regards to Diversity & Inclusion at the management level a lot of improvement is needed. From my experience non of the managers I encountered above field supervisors level were people of color.
