      Horrible Management

      Pros

      Benifits are decent. Some experienced long-term employees.

      Cons

      Manufacturing/fabricating: Hiring isn't based on competence. ZERO accountability for consistent poor decisions by managers. Directors having inappropriate relationships with subordinates. Pay increases do not keep up with inflation. Employees poorly supervised allowed to wonder entire shifts with no specific duties assigned, sleeping in vehicles while on the clock. VERY poor working environment due to excessive noise levels. Requested to run equipment keeping corporate fooled into believing parts are being processed, when they're not. I was asked to lie multiple occasions. In my decade's of experience in manufacturing, I've never seen a division so poorly managed and run.

      Pros

      Calibration team and the supervisor were pretty great. The team really tried to have a good culture and worked hard together to succeed at their goals. Super flexible with anything that came up.

      Cons

      IT team was terrible . Corporate had outsourced it and company never gave priority to tickets sent in unless escalated by the supervisor. Corporate was also frequently out of touch and obnoxious with policies that they put in place. They had a mandatory 30 minute lunch in place and they "wanted to make it easier for the employee" by automatically deducting 30 minutes from your time clock once you hit 6 hours.

It’s encouraging to know the team worked hard together and supported one another with flexibility and a strong culture—winning as a team is important to us and of the culture we are upholding at MKS. We also appreciate your candid feedback regarding IT support and aspects of corporate policy. We understand how important timely service and communication are in helping employees stay productive. Regarding the 30-minute lunch break, MKS complies with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including with respect to mandatory rest and lunch breaks which may be required after a certain number of hours’ work. However, if you do not take a lunch break, work with your manager to ensure your time is properly recorded. That said, we understand how important it is to communicate such policies clearly to all employees, including managers, and ensure they are implemented in a way that respects our employees’ time and trust.
