Pros

Pay and benefits are ok in general.

Cons

If you agree to work as a contractor, you're giving them an opportunity to exploit your labor. They will keep hoaxing you that one day you will have a permanent role, which they never plan to give you from the beginning. You will find yourself working for them day in and day out but not getting what you deserve. They are very antiquated and don't really understand what is going on in the tech field. You won't learn much from this company but just to feel betrayed by them eventually. If you're a smart and capable person, don't waste your talents in this company.

At MSCI, we are treating our employees and contractors with respect and dignity. We are disappointed that this was not your experience and take your feedback seriously. If anyone is experiencing challenges, we foster a ‘speak up’ culture and encourage them to let their local HR representative know about their concerns.

Thank you for taking your time to write your review, we appreciate honest feedback. We are striving to create a working environment where everybody has a workload they are able to manage. We at MSCI evaluate managers annually based on their engagement scores and their ability to retain talented employees. All employees have the opportunity to give anonymous feedback to managers though our engagement survey. In addition, we would encourage employees to share their feedback with their local HR Generalist.

Pros

Depending on your manager there is a decent work/life balance. Great location if commuting by metra or living in the city. Company name carries some prestige and is great to have on a resume. Matching 401k

Cons

Endless management turnover due to what seemed like constant restructuring resulted in a lack of career development for domestic (US) workers. Amount of time spent analyzing and massaging project management metrics felt at times like it eclipsed core job functions, Unscrupulous and incompetent HR. Lack of incentives for non executive tiered employees. Health insurance is so so. Either you pay a very high premium and have good coverage or you pay a very small premium and have very little coverage. Things you would typically find at NY based financial services position
