Pros

Great colleagues and team mates. Smart people too. Feel like a diverse international firm. Global team work and collaborate closely together. Fun too.

Cons

For a firm of this size, the number of MD is quite shockingly high. Many senior persons, especially external new hires, treat this firm as their retirement job. Also tend to hire senior management externally rather than promote from within, which is not very motivating for staff who have been around for years.

MSCI Response

Thank you for caring enough to give us your feedback. MSCI does have some of the smartest people in the industry and we pride ourselves for having a collaborative work environment. Only 2% of our colleagues hold our highest title of Managing Director. These senior most leaders work hard like all employees of MSCI and if you want to retire MSCI is not a good place to be.  MSCI colleagues are the preferred choice for all open jobs at the firm and we are doing a better job of developing our leaders from inside although we still have a long way to go on this. With that in mind, all positions are posted internally for one week on Careers@MSCI exclusively to MSCI employees before we consider external candidates. If you have any additional questions or comments please connect your local HR Generalist. Your input and opinions are important and it is also important you have the facts.
