Pros

Parking. Vending machines. Free coffee. It's a paycheck, that's about it. Convenient access to the highway. Lots and lots of parking.

Cons

This company has gone downhill at lightning speed. The Spanish company that bought out Commerce has run it into the ground so fast. Its no surprise that employees leave on their lunch break and don't come back. Supervisors are on a major power trip. They work their employees to death without so much as a thank you. Such evil little trolls who get paid to bark orders. Don't even get me started on the alleged pill popping that was going on during work hours. Last I heard, Webster PD was allegedly investigating. Such a great place to work.

Pros

The pay for adjusters is industry competitive.

Cons

If you love being micro-managed, this is the place for you. They have the very worst management of any of the companies I have EVER been associated with. They are controlling, vindictive, and downright cruel to employees. The Gilbert, AZ location is basically managed by American Commerce in Massachusetts and they believe all claims should be handled as they are in Mass. which has an entirely different claims environment than they have in the West.

Pros

Free coffee. Some of the people are okay to work with. The office is located in a nice setting. Free utensils.

Cons

The management here is MILITANT. Female bosses even more so. Management is inconsistent. Policies and procedures are never clear or change without notice. The company kept getting negative survey results from the Great Place to Work and for good reason! Management is stuck in the 80s and fail to admit that without their employees, Mapfre would be nothing. They have downright refused to ever offer a bonus to employees! Claiming it's not in the budget, however management gets a nice bonus every year. (Oops, I bet you thought no one was supposed to know that!) Management is out of touch. If you like being micromanaged, then this is the place for you. You will be hounded if you are not logged into your phone by a certain time (even if you get no calls all day) , and you are not allowed to make up time if there is a snow storm. So if you come in late due to a snow storm, they will deduct that time out of your PTO and it goes against you as "unscheduled" even though you made an effort to show up. You cannot make up the time. The company likes to pretend they're on your side, but really they're not. All employee recognition programs and activities are employee sponsored. So if you want to reward your team mate for a job well done, don't go to management. Your unit will actually need to chip in and buy them a gift card. Mapfre is only interested in buying everyone pizza and bagels. The company hosts a service reward program but there's no actual 'reward'. It's a certificate with your name on it and the # of years you have been employed.
